Platform
Infrastructure for Innovation
The LignUp portfolio includes LignUp and third party web applications deployed on the web services based LignUp Communications Platform.
The LignUp Platform enables developers to build powerful applications based on:
- Call Control services provided by LignUp Call Director - a native SIP back-to-back User Agent (SIPB2BUA) supporting LignUp Call Control XML (CCTRL)
- Media Control services provided by LignUp Media Server – a 100% software media processor supporting LignUp Media Control XML (MCTRL) and VXML
With the LignUp Platform, any web developer can build presence-aware telephony applications, voice-enable legacy applications, integrate telephony into business processes, and deliver innovative enhanced services.
The LignUp architecture separates application, presentation, call control, and media control layers allowing developers to leverage existing investments in applications and back office infrastructure. Developers can use any development environment eg Java, ASP, Perl, PHP etc. and do not have to be telephony experts; they can focus on the business logic and allow the LignUp Platform to transparently handle all low level programming details (SIP signaling, RTP media, TTS/ASR).
Developers can integrate simple telephony services like “Click-to-Call,” as well as build more complex applications that handle multiple, asynchronous events correctly, and require a platform with high availability and scalability.
More on Applications.
Architected to Scale
The LignUp architecture is modular and scales up or down as needed. The 100% software platform does not require DSP boards and can be deployed on industry standard server hardware. LignUp components - LignUp Call Director, LignUp Media Server, LignUp web applications – can be deployed on a single server or distributed across different servers. In addition the system can scale linearly by deploying any number of LignUp Call Directors and LignUp Media Servers.
